High School Biotech Programs

High School Vocational Biotech Programs

High school biotechnology programs offer students interested in science and biotechnology an introduction to the field. The two high school vocational biotech programs below each offer students an opportunity to gain hands-on laboratory training and to explore biotechnology career options with offsite laboratory visits and guest speakers through industry and academic outreach programs.

Tech Prep Courses

Tech Prep courses offer high school students an introduction to biology/biotechnology. Shoreline Community College offers a Tech Prep course through Shorewood and Juanita High Schools, in which students can earn three college credits for completing the course.


Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center offers several opportunities for high school students interested in science and biotechnology, including Hutch Lab and Hutch High.
