Shoreline Athletics - The Place To Be

 

 

SCC Men's Basketball Routs Olympic 97-72:

The SCC Men's Basketball Team defeated Olympic College on Saturday afternoon in the SCC Gym, 97-72. The Shoreline team broke open a close game in the first part of the first half and led 50-32 at half-time. The Dolphins never let Olympic back in the game in the second half, maintaining a double figure lead at all time and then pushed the final lead up to 25 points as they dominated play late in the game.

Shoreline had 5 scorers in double figures, led by freshman Jesse Vaughan with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Shawn West added 16 while Sean Jones hit 14, Alfie Miller-Soukasen 13 and Spencer Wozeniak 10 as the balanced SCC attack was too much for the Rangers.

Shoreline moved it record to 14-4 overall, 8-2 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Shoreline maintains its position at the top of the region standings. Olympic fell to 2-9 in the region, 4-14 overall. Shoreline visits Skagit Valley College on Wednesday in Mt. Vernon, WA for a 7:00 PM tipoff.

Jesse Vaughan scored 25 for SCC while Shawn West added 16.

Women's Basketball Defeats Olympic For First Region Win:

The Lady Dolphins used 25 points and 10 rebounds from Ana Haberman to led them to their first NWAACC Northern Region victory of the year, a 57-42 victory over Olympic College. Lynsey Sandum added 18 points and Caitlin Johnsen pulled down 11 rebounds in the victory.

Shoreline jumped out to an early lead and was up by 10 points at half-time, 33-23. SCC extended its lead to 16 points halfway through the second half, but Olympic cut the lead to 5 with five minutes to play. But SCC pulled away in the late stages of the games to win by 15 points.

SCC is 2-16 on the season, 1-9 in the region. Olympic falls to 3-12 overall, and 2-9 in Northern Region. Shoreline returns to the court on Wednesday night for a game at Skagit Valley College in Mount Vernon, WA. Game time is 5:00 PM.

Ana Haberman scored 25 points for SCC. Lynsey Sandum added 18.

Softball Signs Pitcher/Shortstop From Ballard High School:

The SCC softball team signed Sophie Overlock-Pauley to a NWAACC Letter of Intent to play softball in 2010-11 at Shoreline. Sophie is the Ballard High School Team Captain, plays pitcher and shortstop for the team. She also plays for the Washington Speed 18A summer team that qualified for ASA Nationals this year.

Overlock-Pauley was second in the KingCo Conference in complete games in 2009, fifth in strikeouts (69) and she led Ballard in fielding percentage. She was second in KingCo in triples as a hitter. She was KingCo Honorable Mention All-Conference as well in 2009. She was 8-7 as a pitcher with the Washington Speed this summer.

Saturday's Women's Basketball Game Features Top Scorers:

The SCC Women's Basketball Game on Saturday against Olympic College features the Top Two Scorers In the NWAACC Northern Region and #2 and #3 scorers in the NWAACC.  SCC's Ana Haberman averages 21.31 points a game while OC's Jodi Mitchell averages 20.36 ppg.  Both players scored 20 points in Olympic's 57-45 victory over SCC on January 2. Game time is 2:00 PM in the SCC Gym. The Men's Game is at 4:00 PM.

Bellevue Sweeps SCC Basketball On Saturday:

The Bellevue College basketball teams sweep Shoreline CC on Saturday at Bellevue College. The SCC men's teams dropped a 86-83 game to the Bulldogs while the BC women dominated the Shoreline women's team, 70-40.

The SCC men's squad was up by two at half-time, 46-44, but Bellevue was able to pull out the game in the second half using their bench scoring as the BC bench outscored the SCC bench, 22-4 in the game. Sean Jones, playing with a dislocated finger on his shooting hand, led SCC with 22 points, Jesse Vaughan added 21. Alfie Miller and Shawn West added 17 and 15 respectively to round out the Dolphins double-figure scoring.

The SCC men fall to 13-4 overall, 7-2 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Both region losses are to Bellevue. Shoreline still leads the region by 1 game over Bellevue and North Seattle who are 5-3 in the region. SCC plays again on Saturday, February 6 against Olympic College in the SCC Gym.

The Shoreline women's basketball team could not overcome turnovers against the Lady Bulldogs. Bellevue scored 47 of their points off turnovers as SCC could only muster 17 first half points. Ana Haberman led Shoreline with 17 points, while Lynsey Sandum added 15.

The Lady Dolphins are 1-16 on the year, 0-9 in the region. Bellevue is tied for the lead in the region, with a 13-6 overall record, 8-1 in the region. SCC hosts Olympic College on Saturday, February 6, at 2:00 PM in the SCC Gym.

SCC Men's Basketball Wins, Women Lose Against Everett:

The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team defeated Everett Community College on Wednesday night, 96-82. The win pushes SCC's record to 13-3 overall and 7-1 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC finishes the first half of the region schedule in first place by two games over Bellevue, North Seattle, Peninsula and Whatcom who all stand at 5-3 for the first half.

Jesse Vaughan led the Dolphins with 32 points and 13 rebounds. Alfie Miller added 17, Shawn West 15 and Ryan McCorkle 15 in the winning effort.

The men's squad returns to the court on Saturday at Bellevue College, the only team to defeat Shoreline in the first half of the season. Bellevue posted a 85-69 victory over SCC on January 2 in the SCC Gym.

The Lady Dolphins played Everett CC tough but lost 52-41. The Women's Squad is 1-15 on the year and 0-8 in the region.

Ana Haberman scored 21 points with 15 rebound for SCC and Lynsey Sandum added 17 for SCC.

The Lady Dolphins return to the court on Saturday night at Bellevue at 4:00 PM.

Jesse Vaughan scored 32 points for the men, Ana Haberman 21 for the women.

SCC Men's Basketball Ranked 8th In NWAACC Poll:

The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team is ranked 8th in the NWAACC Men's Basketball Poll. This is the first NWAACC ranking for SCC in several years. Tacoma Community College is ranked #1 in the poll. No other Northern Region team is ranked.

Shoreline is 12-3 on the season, 6-1 in the NWAACC Northern Region. The team received 17 points while #7 Chemeketa Community College received 25 points.

SCC leads the NWAACC Northern Region by 2 games over 5 other teams that have 3 losses in the region. SCC plays at Everett Community College tonight at 7:00 PM to finish the first half of the region schedule. SCC travels to Bellevue Community College on Saturday to start the second half of division play.

Spring Schedules for Baseball, Softball and Men's and Women's Tennis are now posted on their team links. Please check out the dates and plan on coming to some games or matches this Spring.

Please come back and double check schedules, as while they are 99% final, there will be a change or two before March arrives.

Shoreline CC Men's Basketball Defeats Peninsula:

The Shoreline Community College men's basketball team defeated Peninsula College 87-84 on Saturday afternoon in the SCC Gym. The battle between the two leading teams in the NWAACC Northern Region was a back and forth affair with Shoreline pulling ahead in the last two minutes and holding on for the victory.

Sean Jones scored 22 points for SCC while Shawn West and Alfred Miller-Soukasen added 19 points each.

Shoreline is now 12-3 overall, 6-1 in the region and has a two game lead in the region. Shoreline finishes the first half of the region schedule on Wednesday night at Everett Community College at 7:00 PM. SCC plays at home again on February 6 against Olympic College.

Coach Butch Estes led SCC to victory on Sat., as Sean Jones scored 22.

Peninsula Defeats SCC Women's Basketball:

The Lady Dolphins dropped a 68-55 game to the Lady Pirates of Peninsula College on Saturday afternoon in the SCC Gym. SCC was down at half-time 37-28 and could never cut the lead during the second half and fell behind by more than 20 points, but rallied in the final minutes to cut the PC lead to 13.

SCC was led by Ana Haberman with 24 points and Lynsey Sandum with 18.

SCC is now 1-14 on the season and 0-7 in the NWAACC Northern Region. They play at Everett Community College on Wednesday at 5:00 PM to end the first half of the conference season. SCC plays at home again on Feb. 6 against Olympic College.

Bachman Placed In DePaul's Athletic Hall of Fame:

Ray Bachman, SCC's second year Men's and Women's Tennis Coach, will be inducted into the DePaul Univerisity's Athletic Hall of Fame next week in Chicago as a member of the 1967 Men's Tennis team that went 22-3 and qualified for the NCAA Division I Championship. "GO RAY"

SCC Homecoming Basketball Games Announced:

Shoreline Community College's Homecoming with feature the SCC Men's and Women's Basketball Teams again in 2010. The Wednesday February 17th games against Whatcom Community College will the SCC Homecoming. The Lady Dolphins play at 5:30 PM and the men's team takes the court at 7:30 PM.

Events include a student basketball shooting contest at the half-time of the women's basketball game for a $250.00 scholarship for the winner. There will be a reception at in-between games in the lobby of the gym and at half-time of the men's game, the Academic Athletic Award Winners for Fall 2009 will be announced and receive their certificates.

Make plans to celebrate SCC Homecoming with the Dolphins.

Shoreline Defeats Rival Edmonds In Overtime:

The SCC Men's Basketball Team defeated Edmonds CC 86-80 in overtime on Wednesday night in the SCC gym. Shoreline dominated the first half and went into half-time with a 42-33 lead. Edmonds came out in the second half and cut into the Shoreline lead and took the lead late in the game. ECC committed a foul with 1 second left in regulation and SCC hit the front end of a one and one to send the game into overtime.

Jesse Vaughan led Shoreline with 20 points, followed by Ryan McCorkles 17 points.

Shoreline is now 11-3 on the season, 5-1 in the NWAACC Northern Region and leads the division. The Dolphins face second place Peninsula College on Saturday at 4:00 PM in the Shoreline gym. Peninsula is 8-8 on the season and 5-2 in the region.

McCorkle and Vaughan combined for 37 points on Wednesday night.

Edmonds CC Defeats Shoreline In Women's Basketball:

The Lady Dolphin Basketball Team dropped a 80-55 game to rival Edmonds CC in NWAACC Northern Region action on Wednesday night. The Lady Dolphins hung tough in the first 10 minutes of the game, but ECC pulled away late in the first half and Shoreline could not recover.

Ana Haberman led Shoreline with 20 points and 12 rebounds while Lynsey Sandum added 18 points. Caitlin Johnsen collected 9 rebounds for the Lady Dolphins as well.

Shoreline is 1-13 on the season and 0-6 in the region. Edmonds moves to 6-8 overall and 4-2 in the region. SCC plays again on Saturday afternoon at the SCC Gym against Peninsula College at 2:00 PM in a NWAACC Northern Region contest.

Shoreline Men's Basketball Moves Into First Place:

The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team moved into first place in the NWAACC Northern Region with a 75-74 victory over Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, WA on Monday night.

Shawn West led SCC with 21 points, followed closely by Alfie Miller with 18 and Jesse Vaughan with 17. Shoreline was up by 2 points at halftime, but fell behind by 13 early in the second half and rallied for the victory.

Shoreline is now 10-3 overall, 4-1 in the NWAACC Northern Region and leads the region by half a game over Peninsula College with a 4-2 record. Shoreline plays Edmonds CC at home on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM and then Peninsula College on Saturday in the SCC gym at 4:00 PM.

Women's Basketball Defeated By Whatcom 58-36:

The Lady Dolphins dropped a game to Whatcom Community College on Monday night in Bellingham, WA by the score of 58-36. Shoreline could only muster 13 points in the first half and could not rally enough to overcome the deficit.

Ana Hamberman led Shoreline again in scoring with 20 points. Tammy Gammon scored 7 points and pulled down 6 rebounds.

SCC is 1-11 on the season and 0-5 in the region. They play rival Edmonds Community College on Wednesday at home at 5:30 PM.

SCC Men's Basketball Drops Loss On North Seattle:

The SCC Men's Basketball Team defeated North Seattle Community College on Saturday, 81-71 in NWAACC Northern Region play. The Dolphins featured a balance attack led by Jesse Vaughan with 16 points. Alfred Miller-Soukasen added 15, Sean Jones 14 and Shawn West 12 as eight of the nine SCC players scored in the game.

SCC led 36-30 at halftime and pushed the lead up to double figures most of the second half and never let NSCC draw closer than 6 points in the second half.

Shoreline is now 9-3 on the season, 3-1 in the NWAACC Northern Region and the Dolphins are tied for second place in division. SCC travels to Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, WA on Monday for a region game. SCC plays arch rival Edmonds CC on Wednesday in the Shoreline gym at 7:30 PM.

Women's Basketball Drops Game To North Seattle:

The Lady Dolphins dropped a 59-40 game to North Seattle Community College on Saturday. SCC trailed 42-22 after the first half, as the Dolphins struggled to score points in the first 10 minutes of the game.

Ana Haberman led Shoreline with 19 points. Caitlin Johnsen pulled down 11 rebounds for SCC in the game.

Shoreline is now 1-10 on the season and 0-4 in the region. The Dolphins travel to Whatcom Community College on Monday to face the Orcas at 5:00 PM in Bellingham, WA. SCC faces Edmonds CC at home on Wednesday at 5:30 PM.

SCC Men's Basketball Defeats Skagit Valley:

Jesse Vaughan scored 25 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Shoreline CC's men's basketball team to a 90-85 victory over Skagit Valley College on Wednesday night in the SCC gym. Alfred Miller-Soukasen added 19 and Sean Jones 14 in the winning effort for the Dolphins.

Shoreline started the game slow, falling behind by 9 points early, but hustled back into the game and went up 42-37 at halftime. Shoreline pushed their lead up to 13 points in the second half, but Skagit rallied down the stretch to pull within 3 points, but Shoreline hit their free throws down the stretch and pulled out the victory.

SCC is now 8-3 overall and 2-1 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Skagit Valley falls to 8-5 overall and 2-2 in the region. Shoreline plays at North Seattle Community College on Saturday at 6:00 PM.

Skagit Valley Defeats SCC Women's Basketball:

The Lady Cardinals of Skagit Valley pulled away late in the second as the SCC Women's Basketball Squad battled to a 65-43 defeat. SVC led 33-24 at half-time and Shoreline pulled within 5 with about 10 minutes left in the game, but Shoreline could not muster much offense in the last ten minutes and Skagit pulled away to a victory.

Ana Haberman led Shoreline with 24 points. Haberman was knocked out of the game with a cut under her eye at the start of the second half, but re-entered after receiving treatment and closing the cut.

Shoreline is 1-10 on the season, 0-3 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Skagit moves to 10-3 and 4-0. SCC plays again on Saturday at North Seattle, game time is 4:00 PM.

Haberman scored 24 and received a cut under her eye.

Shoreline Men's Basketball Hangs On To Victory:

The Shoreline Men's Basketball Team pushed out to a big lead and then had to hang on at the end for a 89-88 victory at Olympic College on Saturday. The Dolphins were up 49-38 at halftime. Ryan McCorkle led Shoreline with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Jesse Vaughan had 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Shoreline faces Skagit Valley on Wednesday night in the SCC gym. Shoreline is 7-3 overall and 1-1 in the Northern Region. Skagit Valley is 8-4 overall and 2-1 in the region. Game time is 7:30 PM.

McCorkle had 24 points while Vaughan added 17.

Shoreline Women's Basketball Loses To Olympic:

The Shoreline CC Lady Dolphins lost to Olympic College on Saturday 57-45. Ana Haberman led the SCC Squad with 20 points. Lyndsey Sandum had 8 points while Catilin Johnsen pulled down 15 rebounds in the second half.

Shoreline was down 32-20 in the first half, but tied the Rangers in the second half 25-25 but could not cut the lead OC had.

SCC faces Skagit Valley College on Wednesday at the SCC Gym at 5:30 PM. SCC is 1-9 on the season, 0-2 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SVC is 9-3 overall, 3-0 in the region.

SCC Names Green and Gold Academic Award Winners:

The Shoreline Community College Athletic Department announced today the 56 members of the Green And Gold Club for the Fall Quarter of 2009; this academic award is given to student-athletes who make better than a 3.0 GPA during a quarter. 29 student-athletes made a 3.50 GPA or better and two student-athletes made the Dolphin Club, which is a 4.00 GPA.

Carlos Lazo from Baseball and Hoi Yan Tsoi from Women's Basketball are the first members of the Dolphin Club. The Athletic Department has been announcing the Green and Club members for four quarters now.

Bellevue Sweeps Shoreline In Basketball:

In the opening game, the Bellevue Lady Bulldog's opened the second half with a tough full court press and the Lady Dolphins struggled getting the ball down the court as BC pulled away in the second half for a 63-44 victory. Ana Haberman led the SCC squad with 24 points.

In the men's game, in front of a big crowd in the SCC gym, the Shoreline squad went up by 5 points with 15 minutes to play, but then hit a cold spell and Bellevue roared by on their way to a 85-69 victory. Bellevue led at half 41-39 and the Dolphins came out in the second half took the lead, but several missed shots and turnovers cost the SCC squad down the stretch as the 6th ranked Bulldog pulled away.

Both SCC squads take to floor next Saturday at Olympic College in Bremerton, WA. Game times are 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.

Shoreline Basketball Returns To Court:

The Shoreline Community College Men’s and Women’s Basketball Team return to the court on Saturday, January 2, against Bellevue College at the SCC Gym. The doubleheader is the opening NWAACC Northern Region context for both schools.

 The SCC Men’s Basketball Team is 6-2 on the season and has high hopes of qualifying for the NWAACC Championship at the end of the season after finishing 0-16 (6-21 overall) in the league in 2009. They face a tough Bellevue squad in the opening game of conference play. BC is ranked 6th in the NWAACC with a 7-2 record.

 Shoreline is lead by Roshawn West, a sophomore transfer from Portland Community College, who sat out last year and is averaging 16.0 points a game. Freshman, Jonathon Payne and sophomore, Ryan McCorkle, are both averaging 10.0 per game for the Dolphins.

The Lady Dolphins, who have been hit hard by injuries in the first half of the season look to rebound in league play after a 1-7 start in non-league play. Ana Haberman, a sophomore transfer from Linfield College, is third in the NWAACC in scoring, averaging 21.7 points per game but the team lost starters Amber Hering and Ashley Flemming for the season due to shoulder and knee injuries and have not managed any other double figure scoring threats.

The Lady Bulldogs of Bellevue College come into the game with a 5-5 record.

The Women’s Game starts at 2:00 PM in the SCC gym with the Men’s Game following at 4:00 PM. Admission is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for non-SCC students. SCC students are admitted free with a Student ID.

Haberman Is #3 In Scoring In the NWAACC:

After 8 games this season, Ana Haberman is #5 in scoring in the NWAACC with a 21.71 average. She had 35 and 25 point outings over the weekend at the NWAACC Crossover at Umpqua Community College.

Haberman is a sophomore transfer from Linfield College.

SCC Women's Basketball Goes 1-2 At NWAACC Crossover:

The Lady Dolphin Basetball team picked up its first win of the season, but lost two other games at the NWAACC Crossover Tournament at Umpqua Community College (OR) during the weekend.

SCC was defeated by host Umpgua CC on Friday, 103-57, Ana Haberman led Shoreline with 35 points. The Dolphins won their second game of the tournament by forfeit over the Umpqua All-Stars (Umpqua CC Alumni team) and they SCC was defeated by Southwestern Oregon Community College 72-35. Haberman again led the SCC squad with 25 points.

SCC will now take a Christmas break  and comeback on January 2 to play Bellevue College in the first NWAACC Northern Region game of the season at home at 2:00 PM. Shoreline finishes the non-region schedule 1-7 but has lost two starters to injuries for the year.

Haberman scored 35 and 25 points over the weekend.

Men's Basketball Scores 100 For Second Game In A Row:

The Shoreline CC Men's Basketball Team scored 100 points for the second day in a row at the Northwest Indian College Tournament in Bellingham, WA by beating Laglala Lakota 122-60. Five Dolphins scored in double figures in the game as SCC dominated from start to finish.

The game schedule against Reed College on Sunday was cancelled to snowy conditions in the Bellingham to allow teams to return home before conditions worsened.

Shoreline finishes its non-region schedule 6-2 and does not play again until January 2 as it open Northern Region play against Bellevue College at home.

Dolphins Beats Camosun In A Big Way at NWIC Tournament:

Led by Shawn West's 30 points, the SCC Men's Basketball Team defeated Camosun College (Alberta, Canada)105-59 at the Northwest Indian College Tournament on Friday night. Jesse Vaughan added 14 points and 6 rebounds.

 SCC plays Oglala Lakota College from South Dakota tomorrow at 3:00 PM in the second round of the tournament. SCC stands 5-2 on the season.

The "Boxer" Shawn West scored 30 for SCC and Jesse Vaughan added 16.

The Dolphins will play three games at the Northwest Indian College Tournament, December 11-13, in Bellingham, WA. On Friday the 11th at 6:00 PM, SCC plays Camosun College from Victoria, Canada. On Saturday at 3:00 PM, the Dophins take on Oglala Lakota College from South Dakota and on Sunday, SCC faces Reed College from Oregon at 11:00 AM.

Currently the Dolphins are 4-2 on the season and this will be the last games for Shoreline until the Northern Region schedules begins on January 2 against Bellevue College in the SCC Gym.

Shawn West and Sean Jones are leading Shoreline so far this season in scoring. West is averaging 16 points a game, while Jones is hitting 15.4 per game.

Men's Basketball Tops Northwest Indian College Again:

The Shoreline Men's Basketball Team topped NW Indian College on Sunday evening, 81-69 in Bellingham, WA.

The Dolphins move their record to 4-2 on the season as they secured their second victory against NWIC. In the season opening, SCC defeated Northwest 102-54.

Shoreline travels back to Bellingham this weekend to play in the Northwest Indian College Tournament Friday - Sunday.

Women's Basketball Drops Two Games At Spokane Tourney:

The Lady Dolphin Basketball Team found scoring tough at the Community College of Spokane Basketball Tournament over the weekend, as they dropped two games to the CC of Spokane and Wenatchee Valley CC.

On Saturday, the SCC squad dropped a 86-37 decision to the host CC of Spokane squad. On Sunday, the shooting for SCC got even colder as they lost to WVCC 57-28. Ana Haderman was the only SCC player in double figures both games during the tournament, scoring 19 and 14 respectively. Tiffany Gammon scored 12 against Spokane as well.

SCC is 0-5 on the season and hosts Douglas College from Canada on Saturday.

Men's Basketball Loses To Portland Community College:

The Shoreline CC Men's Basketball Team dropped a 87-84 road game on Tuesday night. The Dolphins were down by 6 points at halftime and could not over come the deficient in the second half.

Shawn West led the SCC Squad with 21 points, West is a former Portland CC player who played there 2007-08 and attended SCC in 2008-09 as a part-time student. Spencer Wozniak scored 16 points and Sean Jones 13 in the game as well.

Shoreline falls to 3-2 on the season and plays at Northwest Indian College on Sunday at 5:00 PM.

Dolphins Defeat Columbia Basin to Capture Consolation Bracket at Pierce CC Tournament:

The SCC Men's Basketball Team defeated Columbia Basin College on Sunday, 85-74, to win the Consolation Bracket at the Pierce Community College Thanksgiving Tournament.

Sean Jones was named All-Tournament for SCC. The Dolphins are now 3-1 on the young season and play at Portland Community College on Tuesday, December 2th at 5:00 PM.

Sean Jones averaged 16.3 points a game in the tournament.

SCC Men's Basketball Rips Linn-Benton:

The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team rebounded from its first loss on Friday night to pound Linn-Benton CC 92-63 on Saturday afternoon.

The Dolphins will now face Columbia Basin College on Sunday at 11:00 AM in the Consolation Final of the Pierce Community College tournament. SCC is 2-1 on young season.

Men's Basketball Loses Lead and Game To South Puget Sound:

The Shoreline Community College Dolphins had an 11 point lead early in the second half, but could not hold it, as SPCC took control let in the game and SCC lost 76-66 in the first round of the Pierce Community College Tournament.

Shoreline will face Linn-Benton CC, in the second round. LBCC lost to Whatcom CC 79-59 on Friday night. Game time is 1:00 PM. SCC is now 1-1 on the season.

Men's Basketball Defeats Northwest Indian College:

The Shoreline Men's Basketball Team routed Northwest Indian College 102-54 at the SCC Gym on Tuesday night. The Dolphins started fast and jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, never trailing in the game. Shoreline led 51-22 at the half.

Jesse Vaughan led a balanced attack, scoring 17 points. 6 other Dolphins scored in double figures, with Spencer Wozniak and Joseph Holifield adding 16 each.

Shoreline travels to the Piece Community College tournament over the weekend, facing South Puget Sound Community College of Olympia in the first round of the eight team tournament.

Three SCC Soccer Players Named All-Stars:

Shoreline Community College had three players named NWAACC All-Stars on Tuesday. Precillio Martinez, a defender on the men's team, Rochelle Hann, a midfielder on the women's team, and Kat Donovan, goalkeeper for the Lady Dolphins, were named to their respective All-Star teams. The three will play in the NWAACC All-Star games on December 5 in Vancouver, WA.

SCC Women's Basketball Falls To 0-2:

The Lady Dolphin Basketball Team fell to 0-2 on the season with a 82-42 defeat at the hands of the Community College of Spokane at the SCC Turkey Shoot Tournament. Another slow start rattled the short handed SCC squad, falling behind 21-2 to start the game. Ana Haberman led the team again with 17 points, followed by Ashley Flemming with 15. SCC plays at Green River CC on Saturday, November 28th in a 3:00 PM contest.

Lane Communit College won the Turkey Shoot Tournament, 89-59 over Highline CC.

Haberman and Flemming led the Lady Dolphins in scoring over the weekend.

Women's Basketball Falls In Opener:

The Lady Dolphins opened with a 79-48 defeat at the hands of Highline Community College. The short-handed SCC squad became even more shorthanded as Tiffany Gamman played the first 51 seconds before going out with an injury. Caitlin Johnsen injured a knee late in the game as well. SCC dropped behind 19-2 early and could never make overcome the start.

Ana Haberman led Shoreline with 25 points, Ashley Flemming added 15.

Shoreline faces the Community College of Spokane tomorrow in the consolation game of the tournament. Highline takes on Lane in the Championship. Lane defeated Spokane 71-62 in the opening game of the tournament.

Volleyball Season Ends At NWAACC Championship:

The Lady Dolphin Volleyball Team was eliminated from the NWAACC Volleyball Championship on Thursday by top ranked Tacoma and 6th ranked Chemeketa Community Colleges. The SCC squad lost to TCC in the opening round, 25-9, 25-20, 25-12 in a 3 out of 5 match and then in the loser's bracket to Chemeketa, 25-17, 25-22, in a two out of three contest.

Shoreline finished the season 11-19 and in 4th place in the NWAACC Northern Division but  have 8 freshmen on the squad who return next season. It was the first time since 2006 that the Dolphins had qualified for the NWAACC Championship.

Women's Basketball Tournament Set For The Weekend:

The Shoreline Women's Basketball Team will open its schedule at home over the weekend in a four team tournament. Teams from all four regions of the NWAACC will take part. The opening game on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM pits Lane Community College of Oregon (South Region) against the Community College of Spokane (East Region). In the second game of the day, the Shoreline Community College Lady Dolphins (North Region) face Highline Community College (West Region) at 4:00 PM.

The losers of the opening round face each other on Sunday at Noon in the Consolation Game and the two winners play in the tournament Championship Game at 2:00 PM. Shoreline was the runner-up in this tournament Last year, finishing second to Spokane.

This will be the coaching debut of Alisa Scott as the Shoreline Community College Head Women's Basketball Coach. SCC finished last season 10-17.

Women's Soccer Season Ends At Walla Walla:

The Shoreline Community College Women's Soccer season ended Saturday in Walla Walla, WA at the SCC squad was on the short end of a 4-0 score to the #1 ranked Walla Walla Community College team. The WWCC team scored an early goal to take the lead and then put one end toward the end of the half. Shoreline played short handed for part of the match as a red card was given to sophomore Grace Hedemann. WWCC finished the scoring with late goals to finish the scoring.

The Lady Dolphins will not make the NWAACC Final Four for the first time in three seasons, but SCC only had 6 sophomores on the team and played 14 freshman this year. SCC finished 8-5-4 for the season.

Volleyball Players Receive Individual Awards:

Three Lady Dolphin Volleyball Players received awards this week for their individual play. Chantel Tes was named to the NWAACC Northern Region All-Sophomore Team as a hitter. Tes from Diamond High School in Anchorage, AK. Lahela Kaili-Laroya was named to the Northern Region first team All-Stars and Matelita Melino was named to the second team. Both players are freshmen and come from Honolulu, HI. The two All-Stars will play in the NWAACC Volleyball All-Star games at Big Bend Community College on December 5.

The SCC Volleyball team opens play in the NWAACC Volleyball Championship next Thursday in Gresham, OR against Tacoma Community College.

Lady Dolphins Advance In NWAACC Women's Soccer:

A stubborn Olympic College women's soccer team gave SCC a scare, but the Lady Dolphins dominated penalty kicks and came out with a victory over the Rangers. The game was 0-0 at half, SCC's Grace Hedemann scored 3 minutes into the second half but OC tied it shortly afterwards, neither team could score the remainder of regulation and after 2 overtime periods. Shoreline scored on the first three PKs, while OC missed each shot and SCC got the victory. The Lady Dolphins with their victory on Wednesday against advances to the second round of the NWAACC Playoffs to face the #1 ranked Walla Walla Warriors. WWCC is 18-1 on the season. SCC is now 8-4-4 overall. The two teams have not played this year. Game is 11:00 AM on Saturday morning.

SCC Men's Soccer Loses To Highline In NWAACC Playoffs:

The Highline CC men's soccer team exploded for 3 goals in the first 7 minutes of the match, and went on for a 4-2 victory over the Dolphins in the first round NWAACC playoff game. Joseph Ademofe scored both goals for SCC, one at the 4 minute mark and the second in the 62nd minute. SCC finished 7-9-1 for the season.

Volleyball Loses To Skagit Valley:

The SCC Volleyball Team suffered a loss in its final regular season game of the season to Skagit Valley College by the scores of 25-21,27-25,25-22. The SCC squad finished 4th in the Northern Region and will go to the NWAACC Volleyball Championship next weekend in Gresham, OR at Mt. Hood CC. SCC is 11-17 overall, 6-6 in the region. SCC faces #1 ranked Tacoma CC in the first round.

Steel Named NWAACC Northern Region Setter of the Week:

Volleyball player, Shariece Steel, was named the NWAACC Northern Region Setter of the Week for her play against Whatcom Community College and Olympic College. Steel, a freshman from Damonte Ranch High School, in Reno, NV, had 36 assists against WCC and 29 in the match against OC.

Testa Named Men's Soccer Player of the Week:

Greg Testa was named the Men's Soccer Player of the Week at Shoreline Community College. Testa scored the winning goal against Skagit Valley College on Saturday that propelled the Dolphins into the host position for the first round of the NWAACC playoffs that start on Wednesday. SCC faces Highline Community College at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the SCC Soccer Field. Testa is a freshman from Ballard High School in Seattle

Sabo Named Volleyball Player of the Week:

Carolyn Sabo was named the Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for her contributions against Whatcom CC and Olympic College last week. Sabo was also named an NWAACC All-Academic Player for her efforts in the classroom. NWAACC All-Academic requires 3.25 GPA in at least 36 credits of work and a sophomore in athletic eligibility.

Folk Named Women's Soccer Player of the Week:

Lauren Folk was named the SCC Women's Soccer Player of the Week for her efforts against Skagit Valley College on Saturday. She scored one of the five goals on the day for the Lady Dolphins.

Men's and Women's Soccer To Host NWAACC Playoff Games:

A NWAACC Playoff Doubleheader will be played at Shoreline Community College on Wednesday.

The Lady Dolphins will host Olympic College at 11:30 AM in a first round match-up. SCC sports a 8-4-3 record while OC is 7-6-3. The two teams have not met this season. The Dolphins are 5-1-1 on their home field this season.

The SCC Men's Soccer Team plays Highline Community College at 2:00 PM on Wednesday. SCC is 7-8-1 on the season while HCC is 9-8-3. Highline defeated Shoreline 6-2 earlier in the season at Highline. SCC is 4-2-1 at home this season.

Men's Soccer Comes Back To Defeat SVC, Hosts First Round Playoff Game:

The sick and beat up SCC Men's Soccer Team, pullout a come from behind victory on Saturday and won the right to host a NWAACC playoff game on Wednesday against Highline Community College.

The Dolphins trailed 1-0 at halftime but battled back to tie it on Ciran Regan's goal at the 50th minute mark. Greg Testa hit the winner at the 70th minute mark and the Shoreline defense did the rest as they held the Cardinals out of the goal.

SCC finished the regular season 7-8-1, 6-6-1 in the counting games for the NWAACC Northern Region.

Women's Soccer Routs Skagit Valley In Regular Season Finale:

The Lady Dolphins prepared for the NWAACC playoffs with a 5-0 victory over Skagit Valley on Saturday. SCC hosts Olympic College on Wednesday in the first round of the NWAACC playoffs.

On Saturday, Grace Hedemann led the way for Shoreline with two goals, both scored in the half as SCC took a 3-0 halftime lead and never looked back. Michael Urbano, Laruen Folk and Emily Carter also scored for Shoreline. Carter returned to action after suffering a concussion and lacerated liver earlier in the season.

SCC finished the regular season 8-4-3 overall, 7-3-3 in Northern Region counting games.

Volleyball Qualifies For NWAACC Championship:

The Lady Dolphin Volleyball Team qualified for the NWAACC Volleyball Championship on Friday, without playing a game. Whatcom Community College defeated Edmonds CC on Friday night, pushing the ECC squad to two games behind Shoreline with only one game to go and giving the SCC squad the final fourth place playoff spot.

The Dolphin team actually has a chance to move to the #3 Seed if they can beat Skagit Valley College on Tuesday night in Mt. Vernon, WA. If SCC wins, then both SCC and SVC will be tied for 3rd place and Shoreline owns the tiebreaker over Skagit and would be the #3 seed for the Northern Region.

SCC is 11-16 overall on the season and 6-5 in the NWAACC Northern Region. This will be the first trip to the NWAACC Championship for the Lady Dolphins in three years.

Volleyball Honors Five Sophomores:

Five SCC Sophomore Volleyball Players played their last home game on Wednesday and ended their home careers with a victory over Olympic College.

The honored sophomores were: Cherilynn Kua, Chauntel Tes, Kristin Hinnesbusch, Sydney Hinnesbusch and Carolyn Sabo.

Volleyball Team Defeats Olympic College:

The SCC Volleyball Team defeated Olympic College on Wednesday night by the score of 25-19, 25-13 and 25-22. Chautel Tes lead the Lady Dolphins with 13 kills and Shelby Souther added 11.

The Lady Dolphins are now 11-16 on the season, 6-5 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC leads Edmonds CC by 1.5 games for the fourth and final playoff spot in the region. A Edmonds loss on Friday to Whatcom CC would ensure the Dolphins of the playoff spot.

Shoreline travels to Skagit Valley College next Tuesday night for the final regular season game of the year.

Shoreline Volleyball Drops Tough Match To Whatcom:

The Lady Dolphins fell to region leading Whatcom Community College in five games on Monday night in the SCC gym. Game scores were 21-25, 25-17, 12-25, 26-24, 10-15.  Shoreline was lead by Lahala Kaili-Laroya with 21 kills.

SCC is now 10-16 overall, 5-5 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC leads Edmonds CC by one game with two to play for the last playoff spot in the region. SCC plays Olympic College at home on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM in the last home game of the year.

Shoreline and Edmonds Battle To A 1-1 Tie In Men's Soccer:

Both goals in the match were scored on penalty kicks at both defenses were tough on this day and neither team could put in a score.

SCC scored its goal very late in the first half (45th minute) as Precilio Martinez took the PK for the Dolphins. Edmonds PK came at the 65th minute mark.

Shoreline leads Edmonds by one point in the league standings for second place. A Edmonds loss on Wednesday at Whatcom or a SCC victory on Saturday at Skagit Valley College will place Shoreline in second place and the chance to host the first round NWAACC playoff game next week. A SCC victory Saturday and two Whatcom CC losses would place Shoreline in a tie for first place. An Edmonds win and SCC loss would send SCC into third place.

 Edmonds CC Women's Soccer Defeats SCC On Home Field:

The Lady Tritons of Edmonds CC upset Shoreline on Saturday at the SCC Soccer Field 1-0 in a hard fought battle. Both teams were equally matched but Edmonds was able to squeeze out a second half goal to pull out a victory.

The Lady Dolphins are now 7-4-3 overall and 6-3-3 in the Northern Region. SCC trails Whatcom CC by 1 point in the region and Shoreline will need help to capture its fifth straight region championship. SCC finishes the season at Skagit Valley College on Saturday. Whatcom plays two matches this week against Everett and Edmonds. It will take two WCC losses and SCC victory for Shoreline to capture its fifth outright championship. A SCC victory and a WCC loss and tie would place both teams in a league leading tie for the championship.

Volleyball Drops Non-Region Game To Clark College:

The Lady Dolphins stepped out of Northern Region play on Friday night and lost to Clark College from Vancouver, WA after winning the first two games. SCC cruised through the first two games, winning 25-13, 25-18, but Clark mounted a comeback, taking the third and fourth games by the scores of 15-25 and 22-25. The fifth and final game went Clark's way, 15-9.

The loss drops SCC to 10-15 overall. The Dolphins are 5-4 in the Northern Region and face Whatcom CC on Monday night. SCC leads Edmonds CC for the fourth and final playoff spot by 2 games with 3 games left in the region season.

3:00 PM Volleyball Match On Friday Cancelled:

The 3:00 PM Volleyball Match vs Tacoma CC on Friday has been cancelled due the death of a parent from the Tacoma CC team. The 7:00 PM match against Clark Clark is still on for the SCC Gym.

Volleyball Beats Everett, Moves Closer To Playoff Spot:

The SCC Volleyball Team defeated Everett CC on Wednesday night in Everett by the scores of 23-25,25-10 ,25-13,25-12. With the victory and Edmonds CC lost last night to Bellevue, the Lady Dolphins moved into a two game lead with 3 region games left for the fourth and final playoff spot in the NWAACC Northern Region.

The Dolphins are still in striking distance of third place in the region, as they trail Skagit Valley College by 1 game and face the Cardinals again in the final week of the season.

Shoreline is 10-14 overall and 5-4 in the Northern Region. The SCC squad faces Clark College on Friday night at 7:00 PM in a non-region game.  SCC will face Whatcom CC and Olympic CC at home next week on Monday and Wednesday nights in big Northern Region games.

Whatcom Sweeps SCC In Soccer:

The SCC Soccer Teams went to Bellingham, WA on Wednesday for big games NWAACC Northern Region games against Whatcom CC and both teams had disappointing losses.

The Lady Dolphins, playing short handed with several injuries and the flu bug making its rounds on the team, dropped a tough 1-0 match to WCC. With the loss, both SCC and Whatcom are tied for first place in the Northern Region with 21 points each. Shoreline is 7-3-3 overall and 6-2-3 in region counting games.

The Shoreline Men's Soccer Team jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal by Kevin Flavin. But a inspired Whatcom team scored three times in the second half to win the match 3-1. SCC is 6-8 overall and 5-6 in the region. Edmonds defeated SCC 4-2 in their first match-up of the season.

Both SCC squads face arch-rival Edmonds CC on Saturday at the SCC Soccer Field. The second place SCC men lead Edmonds by one point in the Northern Region standings. The winner of the match has the inside track on hosting a first round NWAACC Playoff game, the loser will more than likely have to travel in the first round.

The SCC Women's Team needs a victory to maintain its goal for a fifth straight region crown and gain a first round bye in the playoffs. Edmonds is in third place in the region. SCC defeated ECC 1-0 earlier in the season.

Soccer Names Players of the Week:

Ciran Reagan has been named the Men's Soccer Player of the Week for SCC. Reagan, a sophomore from Shorewood High School in Shoreline scored two goals against Skagit Valley College last Wednesday to help the Dolphins overcome a 1-0 deficient and comeback for a 3-1 victory.

The Lady Dolphins named Co-Players of the Week, Gina Carossino and Kristina McGee, for their goal and assist on a last minute goal against Everett CC on Saturday the propelled the SCC squad to a 2-1 victory over the tough minded ECC team. Carossino assisted on the goal by McGee.

Shoreline Men's And Women's Soccer Sweeps Everett:

The Men's and Women's Soccer teams at Shoreline CC defeated Everett CC on Saturday at Everett in identical 2-1 victories. The wins maintained the Lady Dolphins as the #1 team in the region and for the men, the win propelled them into a first place time with Whatcom CC for the region lead. Whatcom has played one less game than SCC in the region standings.

For the Lady Dolphins, Melanie Boutcher scored the first goal just before halftime and then Kristina McGee hit the game winner with 2 minutes left in the game.

On the men's side, Edward Abrans scored five minutes into the game and Joseph Ademofe hit the game winner in the 54th minute.

The SCC women's squad is now 7-2-3 overall and 6-1-3 in the region. The men's team is 6-7 overall and 5-5 in the region. Both teams play at Whatcom CC on Wednesday in big region matchups. The Whatcom women's team is in second place behind SCC by 3 points and SCC is tied with Whatcom for first place in the region.

SCC Volleyball Loses to Bellevue in Three Games:

The Shoreline CC Women's Volleyball Team suffering a hangover from their emotional loss on Wednesday night fell to Belleuve College in the straight games on Friday night - 13-15, 22-15, 20-15.

SCC is now 9-14 overall, 4-4 in the Northern Region. The Dolphins are in fourth place, one game ahead of Edmonds CC for the final playoff spot to the NWAACC Championship. The SCC squad has four region remaining and plays at Everett on Wednesday night before returning home on Friday to face non-conference games against Tacoma CC and Clark College. Tacoma is the #1 ranked team in the NWAACC.

Volleyball Falls To Edmonds In Five Games:

The Lady Dolphin Volleyball Team dropped a five game thriller to Edmonds CC on Wednesday night. The SCC squad dropped the first two games to Edmonds then came roaring back to tie the match at 2 games all but could not keep the momentum going and ECC came out on top in the fifth and deciding game. Game scores were 22-25, 22-25, 25-14, 25-18, 9-15.

Shoreline is now 9-13 on the season, 4-3 in the NWAACC Northern Region, 1 game ahead of Edmonds for the fourth and final playoff spot with 5 more games to play in the region schedule. The Dolphins travel to Bellevue College on Friday night to play at 7:00 PM.

Men's and Women's Soccer Sweeps Skagit Valley:

The Shoreline Men's and Women's Soccer Teams swept Skagit Vally College on Wednesday at the SCC Soccer Field. The Skagit Valley women's soccer team put up a fight through the first half, as both teams were scoreless for the first 45 minutes. Melanie Boutcher broke through for the Lady Dolphins at the 64th minute and Grace Hedemann put the game away in the 87th minute with a goal.

The Lady Dolphins are now 6-2-3 overall, 5-1-3 in the Northern Region and in first place in the region.

The SCC Men's Soccer team fell behind 1-0 early in the game but Joesph Ademofe tied the score in the 44th minute, just before halftime. The Dolphins controlled most of the action in the second half and Ciaran Regan scored two goals for the SCC squad.

The Men's Team is 5-7 overall and 4-5 in the Northern Region.

Hedemann and Sabo Named NWAACC All-Academic:

Grace Hedemann from the Women's Soccer Team and Carolyn Sabo from Volleyball were named to the NWAACC All-Academic Team on Monday. To earn the award, you must be a second year player, have earned at least 36 credits and have a minimum 3.25 GPA. Hedemann is a transfer from Hawaii Pacific College and Sabo is a local student-athlete from Ingraham High School in Seattle.

Lahela Kaili-Laroya Named Volleyball Player of the Week:

Lahela Kaili-Laroya was named Shoreline Community College's Volleyball Player of the week for her efforts at the NWAACC Crossover Tournament at the Community College of Spokane over the past weekend. Kaili-Laroya was named the Co-MVP of the tournament.

Women's Volleyball Goes 1-3 at NWAACC Crossover:

The Lady Dolphin Volleyball Tean went 1-3 over the weekend at the NWAACC Crossover tournament at the Community College of Spokane.

Match results were:

Shoreline def Spokane (25-23, 25-20, 14-25, 21-25, 15-9)

Big Bend def Shoreline (25-20, 25-20, 26-24)

Linn-Benton def Shoreline (25-16, 18-25, 21-25, 25-20,15-5)

Highline def Shoreline (25-15, 25-20,21-25, 21-25, 15-4)

The SCC squad is 9-12 overall and 4-2 in the NWAACC Northern Region, tied for 3rd place with Skagit Valley. The Dolphins face Edmonds CC on Wednesday night at the SCC gym at 7:00 PM which begins the second half of the region schedule.

Womens's Soccer Defeats Edmonds 1-0:

The Lady Dolphin Soccer Team defeated Edmonds CC in a key Northern Region match-up on Wednesday night at Meadowdale High School. The single goal of the evening came from Melanie Boutcher on a free kick from about 30 yards out in the 69th minute of match.  Boutcher had hit the crossbar in the first half on a similar play. Kat Donovan was credited with the shut-out.

The SCC squad is now 5-2-3 on the season, and 4-1-3 in the Northern Region. The Dolphins lead the division by 3 points and face Skagit Valley College next Wednesday at the SCC Soccer Field at 2:00 PM.

Women's Volleyball Falls To Skagit Valley:

The SCC Volleyball Team was defeated by Skagit Valley in a classic five game match on Wednesday night at the SCC Gym. Game scores were 23-25, 25-22, 24-26, 25-14 and 14-16 as the Lady Dolphins could not quite get over the hump during the match. Chauntel Tes led a balanced SCC attack with 16 kills. Kahela Kaili-Laroya and Shelby Souther had 14 kills each for the Dolphins as well.

Shoreline is now 8-9 overall and 4-2 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC is tied for third place in the region with Skagit Valley. The Dolphins travel to Spokane this weekend to play in the NWAACC Crossover Tournament.

Men's Soccer Loses to Edmonds:

The SCC Men's Soccer Team was defeated by Edmonds Community College on Wednesday night at Meadowdale High School 4-2. The Tritans jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 11 minutes of the game and never looked back. Shoreline was led with goals by Precilio Martinez and Stephen Rock, but it was too little to late.

Shoreline falls to 4-7 overall and 3-5 in the Northern Region, but remains in a tie for second place in the region with Whatcom CC and in the play-off hunt as the top three teams in the region qualify for the NWAACC playoffs.

SCC faces Skagit Valley College at home on October 21 at 4:00 PM.

Women's Soccer Ranked Sixth In NWAACC Poll:

The Lady Dolphin Soccer Team is ranked sixth in the latest NWAACC Soccer Poll. The SCC team is 4-2-3 overall for the season and 3-1-3 in the Northern Region standings. The Dolphins are the four time defending champions of the region and have finished third the past two seasons at the NWAACC Women's Soccer Championship.

Women's Volleyball Sweeps Olympic College:

The Shoreline Women' s Volleyball Team defeated Olympic College on Wednesday night in Bremington, WA. The Dolphins stormed to victories in the first two games, defeating the Rangers 25-10 and 25-10 and SCC w...on a battle in the 3rd games, as OC put a fight but came up short 28-26 to the Northern Region's second place team. SCC is now 8-8 overall on the season and 4-1 in the Northern Region. The Dolphins next play Skagit Valley College at home on October 14th at 7:00 PM in the SCC Gym.

Shoreline Women's Soccer Moves Into First Place - The Lady Dolphin Soccer Team defeated Whatcom Community College 1-0 on Wednesday to move into first place in the NWAACC Northern Region. The SCC squad raised their record to 3-1-3 in the region a...nd 4-2-3 overall. The Dolphins are the four time defending region champions. Kristina McGee scored at the 22 minute mark on an assist from Grace Hedemann. Kat Donovan and Kaitlin McKenzie combined on the shutout for SCC.

Shoreline's Men's Soccer Loses To Whatcom:

Shoreline Falls To Whatcom 3-1 In Men's Soccer - A tired looking Shoreline Me'ns Soccer Team was defeated by Whatcom CC 3-1 at the SCC Soccer Field on Wednesday afternoon. The Dolphins fell behind 2-0 in the first half, ralled to cut the le...ad to 2-1 with 15 minutes to go, but gave up another goal to assure the loss. Shoreline falls to 3-6 overall and 2-4 in the NWAACC Northern Region and are now tied with Everett CC for third and final playoff position.

McGee and Flavin Named Soccer Players of the Week:

Kristina McGee and Kevin Flavin have been named Women's and Men's Soccer Players of the Week at Shoreline Community College. McGee scored one goal against Everett Community College on Wednesday and then scored the first goal of the season against Chemeketa CC, as the undefeated Storm suffered their first non-win of the season against SCC, in a 1-1 tie on Saturday.

Flavin had a "Hit Trick" against Everett CC on Wednesday, scoring three goals in the match. Flavin leads the team with 5 goals on the season.

Men's Soccer Is Beaten By Walla Walla, 4-1:

The Shoreline Men's Soccer Team had a tough time adjusting to the speed of the #2 ranked Walla Walla CC soccer team in the first half, as WWCC scored 3 goals in a 6 minute span during the midway part of the first half. The Walla Walla team kept constant pressure on the Dolphins at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila, WA. The artificial surface and larger field at Starfire gave SCC trouble, as the quick Walla Walla team took advantage of the added space and faster surface.

Shoreline played better in the second half, adjusting to the field, and scored a goal by Joseph Ademofe.

The Dolphins record fell to 3-5 overall, 2-3 in Northern Region play and they meet Whatcom CC at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, October 8th at the SCC Soccer Field. Shoreline is tied for 3rd place in the NWAACC Northern Region. Whatcom is one point behind in fourth place.

Men's Soccer Loses To #1 Ranked Chemeketa:

Shoreline Men's Soccer Loses To #1 Ranked Chemeketa, 2-0. In a physical first half of action, the Shoreline Men's Soccer Team gave up two quick goals and came away a player down by a red card ejection before the half ended, in a 2-0 loss to... undefeated and ranked #1 in the NWAACC Men's Soccer rankings, Chemeketa CC from Oregon. The Storm scored two goals in the first 15 minutes of the game as four yellow cards were given in the first half, and two more in the second during a hard fought contest. The Dolphins most snap back quickly, as they play #2 Ranked Walla Walla CC at the Starfire Complex (Home of the NWAACC Soccer Championship) tomorrow at 1:30 PM.

Women's Soccer Ties Undefeated Chemeketa:

Women's Soccer Ties Undefeated Chemeketa - The SCC Women's Soccer Team led Chemeketa CC from Oregon for 61 minutes but could not pull off the upset as the Lady Storm tied the game in the 68th minute. Kristina McGee scored for the Lady Dolph...ins in the 7th minute. Chemeketa allowed its first goal of the season and the Storm's record now stands at 4-0-1. The SCC Squad record is now 3-2-3 overall, 2-2-3 in the Northern Region. Shoreline hosts Whatcom CC on Wednesday, October 7, in a key Northern Region contest, as both teams are tied for first with with 9 points. Whatcom is 3-1 in the region, 4-2 overall. Game time is 2:00 PM.

Volleyball Loses To Whatcom:

SCC Volleyball Hits A Roadblock - The SCC Women's Volleyball Team lost its first Northern Region game on Friday night to Whatcom Community College, 3-0. Game scores were 25-22, 25-12 and 25-15. The Lady Dolphins fall to 3-1 in the region and 7-8... overall. Whatcom takes control of first place in the region with a 3-0 record, while Shoreline slips into second place.

Women's Soccer Emily Carter Out With Injury:

Women's Soccer Player Out Due To Injuries: Emily Carter, starting forward on the Women's Soccer team is out 4-6 weeks after being injured in a collusion with the goal keeper from Everett Community College. The picture below was snapped right before contact.

Men's Basketball Tryouts:

Men's Basketball Tryouts - The Shoreline Community College Men's Basketball Team will have open tryouts on October 16th at 4:00 PM in the SCC Gym. All interested parties should contact Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, Jordan Howell at jhowell@shoreline.edu for more information.

Women's Volleyball Downs Everett CC 3-0:

The Lady Dolphin Volleyball Team evened its overall record at 7-7 and moved to 3-0 in the NWAACC Northern Region with a 3-0 victory over Everett Community College. The SCC squad took the match, 25-17, 25-20 and 25-16. Chauntel Tes led the Dolphins with 17 kills followed by Shelby Souther with 10. Sharice Steel added 31 assists.

Shoreline returns to action on Friday at Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, WA.

Men's Soccer Defeats Everett CC 5-0:

Men's Soccer defeats Everett 5-0 as Flavin scores three goals. The SCC men's soccer team scored early and then often as they dominated Everett Community College. Kevin Flavin scored in the 4th minute and Ryo Takigawa scored in the 8th minut...e and Shoreline never looked back. Flavin scored again in the 24th minute to put the game away. Shoreline scored two short handed goals in the second half, as Merfin Muhic and Flavin scored goals in the 66th and 87th minutes. SCC pushed its record to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the Northern Region. The squad plays Chemeketa CC from Oregon on Saturday at 2:00 PM.

Women's Soccer defeats Everett 3-1.

Women's Soccer defeats Everett 3-1. In a physical match, the Lady Dolphins came out on top 3-1. 3 yellow cards were handed out during the game between rivals and SCC player Emily Carter was taken to the hospital with injuries with the Everett go...al keeper. For the SCC squad, Emily Carter, Alexandra Navlet and Darby Kurtti scored goals with the clincher coming from Kurtti with 5 minutes left in the match. Shoreline pushes it's record to 3-2-2 for the season and 2-1-2 in the Northern Region of the NWAACC. SCC plays Chemeketa Community College from Oregon at home on Saturday, October 3 at Noon.

SCC Volleyball Defeats Bellevue 3-1 In NWAACC Action:

The Shoreline women's volleyball team defeated Bellevue College on Friday night at the Shoreline CC gym 3-1 to run their record to 2-0 in the NWAACC Northern Region. SCC won by the scores of 28-26, 25-23, 21-25 and 25-23 in a tightly fought match.

Lahela Kaili-Laroya and Lita Melino led the Lady Dolphins to the win with 12 and 13 kills each.

The Dolphins are now 6-7 overall and will host Everett Community College on Wednesday, September 30th at 7:00 PM in Dolphin Gym.

Volleyball Defeats Rival Edmonds In Three Straight Games:

The Shoreline Women's Volleyball Team defeated Edmonds Community College on Wednesday night, 3-0, at the Edmonds CC gym. The Lady Dolphins pounded the Tritons in the first game, 25-16 and then held on for two more game victories 25-21 and 25-22.

The SCC Squad goes 1-0 in the NWAACC Northern Region and 5-7 overall.

Shoreline host Bellevue College on Friday, September 25, in the Shoreline gym for their first home game of the season. Game time is 7:00 PM.

Volleyball Goes 3-2 in Bellevue Crossover Tournament:

The Shoreline Community College Women's Volleyball Team went 3-2 over the weekend in the NWAACC Crossover Tournament held at Bellevue College. The team reached the semi-finals of the tournament.

The team collected wins over Yakima Valley, Green River and Spokane. SCC lost to Highline and Bellevue (semi-final loss).

The Lady Dolphins are now 4-6 for the season and open the home season and the NWAACC Northern Region season on Friday Night, September 25, at 7:00 PM against Bellevue College.

Shoreline Men's Soccer Team Is Defeated By Clark College 3-0:

The Shoreline Men's Soccer Team continued its inconsistent play on the road, dropping a 3-0 decision to Clark College on Saturday. The Dolphins are 0-3 on the road this season, while 2-0 at home.

The SCC squad has a break now until September 30th when it host Everett Community College in the first game of the season against a NWAACC Northern Region opponent. Game time is 4:00 PM.

Shoreline Women's Soccer Defeat Bethany 6-0

The Shoreline Women's Soccer Team defeated Bethany College 6-0 on Friday afternoon at the Shoreline CC Soccer Field. The Lady Dolphins scored two goals in the first half and then exploded for three goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half to put the game away.

Grace Hedemann led the way for the Dolphins with 2 goals and 2 assists. Kristina McGee, Melanie Boutcher, Emily Carter and Darby Kurtti added single goals for SCC.

The SCC squad ran its record  to 2-1-2 while Bethany fell to 0-5. Bethany is a four year college in Santa Cruz, CA.

SCC travels tomorrow (Saturday, Sept. 19) to Northwest University for another game against a four year college.

Men's Soccer Falls To Highline CC 6-2:

The Shoreline Men's Soccer Team was topped by Highline CC 6-2 on Wednesday. The Dolphins were led by Joseph Ademofe and Murfin Muhic who scored one goal each. The SCC squad falls to 2-2 on the season and 1-1 in the NWAACC Northern Region.

The SCC squad plays at Clark College in Vancouver, WA on Saturday.

Men's Soccer Beats Spokane 4-2

Greg Testa scored two goals for Shoreline CC men's soccer team as the Dolphins coasted to a 4-0 lead in the match and then held off Spokane 4-2 for the victory.

Kevin Flavin added a goal and assist for the SCC squad along with a goal by Safaa Al-Selaih to finish out the scoring.

The men's soccer team is now 2-1 for the season and 1-1 in the Northern Region standings. The team plays at Highline Community College on Wednesday.

Soccer Action From Monday's SCC Victory Over Spokane

Men's Soccer Shutouts Southwestern Oregon 2-0

The Shoreline Men's Soccer Team collected its first win of the season, 2-0 against SW Oregon.

The Dolphins stuck early, with Ryo Takigawa scoring a goal in the 4th minute on an assist from Kevin Flavin. Merfin Muhic scored again for Shoreline in the 16th minute, this time on an assistant by Takigawa.

The Men's Soccer Team plays host to the Community College of Spokane on Monday, September 14th at 5:00 PM at the Shoreline Soccer Field.

Shoreline Women's Soccer Beats Southwestern Orgeon

The SCC Women's Soccer Team captured it's first victory of the season by defeating SW Oregon 3-1 on Saturday at the Shoreline soccer field. The Lady Dolphins were lead by Melanie Boutcher who scored in the sixth minute of the game to put Shoreline ahead for good. Gina Carossino scored the second Shoreline goal at the start of the second half in the 52nd minute and Kristina McGee finished off the scoring for the SCC squad in the 60th minute. Kristina McGee and Lauren Folk had assists for SCC.

SCC record is now 1-1-2 on the young season and the Lady Dolphins face Bethany College from California on Friday, September 18th, at the Shoreline field at 1:00 PM.

Volleyball Captures First Victory of Year:

The Lady Dolphins of Shoreline CC earned their first victory of the year by defeating Linn-Benton CC 3-1 on Saturday of the Chemekata CC Tournament. The SCC squad won the match 25-23, 16-25, 25-23 and 25-20.

SCC also lost to Spokane Community College on Saturday, dropping the match 0-3 by the scores of 14-25, 16-25 and 20-25.

The Lady Dolphins are 1-4 after the first tournament of the year and travel to NWAACC Crossover tournament at Bellevue Community College on September 18-19.

Volleyball Goes 0-3 On First Day of Chemeketa Tournament:

The Lady Dolphins of Shoreline Community College opened they 2009 season with 3 losses on Friday. Several of the games, the SCC squad battled in tight contests, but could not come away with a victory. The scores were:

Chemeketa - 14-25, 20-25

Highline - 19-25, 23-25

Columbia Basin - 17-25, 21-25
