Men's Basketball 2007-2008 Season Preview
Ready to Go in 07/08
The Shoreline Community College Men’s Basketball Team is “Ready to Go” according to 3rd year Coach Jeff Menday. “We made playoffs 2 years ago and did not make it last year. It was a very disappointing season. However, we are much improved and want to prove ourselves this year.” Three sophomore starters return off a 13-14 team. They are 6-’6” power forward JaRon Brown, 6’-1” point guard Justin Grisby and 5’-10” shooting guard Parys Fox. All three “are committed to getting us back to playoffs” said Coach Menday. Sophomores Nate & Jeremy Rudd, and Micha Usita return as well. “I am encouraged about our defensive play so far this year,” said Coach Menday. Locally SCC signed two standouts from Kentridge High School, 6’-4” swingman Jeffrey Sterling and combo guard Corey McClain. Also signed locally was Cleveland High standout 6’-3” Robert Niles and Lynnwood’s sharp shooter Mo Sanchez. Out of state signee’s are 1st Team All State Nevada, Stephen McCall and Gary Harris both from Las Vegas. Also from out of state is Theron Laudermill, a 6’-7” gifted shooter from Southern California. Should we stay healthy and play together as a team “the 07/08 season will be very exciting to watch and will challenge for a playoff spot”, according to Coach Menday. “We are young in many areas, but have the right attitude it takes to win.” Time will only tell.
