Culture
(2 hours)

It's 7:00 a.m. and you want to call your friend.  How long should you wait before you call?  Is calling at 8:00a.m. polite?  What about 9:00a.m.?  The answers to these questions depend on the country you're in and the culture of the people living there.  Living in America, you've certainly learned some things about American culture.  Would you like to learn more?    

Career Research
(2.5 hours)

Are you thinking about a new career in Washington?  Not sure where to begin looking?  This activity will show you how to research a career by using the World Wide Web.     

Drivers License
(2 hours)

Do you need to get your Washington State Driver's License? This activity will help you learn how to get your license.    

Party
Planning

(1.5 hours)

What are you going to do this weekend?  Why not have a party?  You can plan a lunch or dinner party, a barbeque or picnic, or a birthday party.  This task will guide you through the steps, including everything from making invitations to grocery shopping online.      

Earthquake
(1.5 hours)

Do you know what to do when an earthquake strikes? How will you and your family prepare for an earthquake? This activity will help you learn what steps you should take to prepare yourself and your loved ones.    

Explore a State
(2 hours)

Is there any place in the U.S. you would like to know more about?  Have you ever wanted to learn more about Hawaii or Alaska, or perhaps, Washington state.     

Plan Your Own Wedding
(2 hours)

Planning a wedding is a lot of work.  But, with the help of the Internet, a lot of planning can be done by visiting websites.  In this assignment, you will pretend you need to plan a wedding.  Then, you'll do some online research to organize your imaginary wedding.
