  3. Turn in this Task Sheet and your completed work by the end of Week 8 to the instructor in The ESL / GED Tech Center.

Apartment Hunting
(2 hours)

You have decided to move from the place you are living in. But where are you going to go?  Where should you begin looking?  How much is the rent for a 2 bedroom in Shoreline?  Seattle?  Lynnwood?  Would you like to learn how to research for and look at different apartments without having to leave your house?     

Back in Time
(2 hours)

Are you a good detective?  Do you think you could look at a picture and see what is wrong with it?   Are you interested in the history of important inventions?  This activity will allow you to test your observation skills while giving you an opportunity to check your knowledge about important events in American history.    

Drivers License
(2 hours)

Do you need to get your Washington State Driver's License? This activity will help you learn how to get your license.    

Consumer Guide
(1.5 hours)

Do you like to shop?  Do you like to shop online or do you like to actually go to the stores?  When you want to buy something, do you just go to your favorite store or do you spend time comparing prices at many different stores?  How do you know if you are paying too much for something?     

Earthquake
(1.5 hours)

Do you know what to do when an earthquake strikes? How will you and your family prepare for an earthquake? This activity will help you learn what steps you should take to prepare yourself and your loved ones.    

Explore a State
(2 hours)

Is there any place in the U.S. you would like to know more about?  Have you ever wanted to learn more about Hawaii or Alaska, or perhaps, Washington state.     

Plan Your Own Wedding
(2 hours)

Planning a wedding is a lot of work.  But, with the help of the Internet, a lot of planning can be done by visiting websites.  In this assignment, you will pretend you need to plan a wedding.  Then, you'll do some online research to organize your imaginary wedding.
