Congratulations on taking an important step towards your future!

These activities are designed to help you decide upon  your goals and help you create a plan to achieve them. You must complete each activity and meet with your instructor to review what you have learned.

 

Activity #1: College Resources and Services

As a student, you can have access to a wide variety of campus services and resources. Many of these services are free. This activity will help you learn about what Shoreline Community College has to offer you.

Activity #2: Interest Assessment

This activity will help you find careers that match your individual interests. If you already know what you want to do, this activity can reinforce that goal or it may offer some alternatives that you have not considered.

Activity #3: Occupation Research

Now that you have selected some careers that might interest you, it is time to do some research. It is important to know about job duties, required education and training, wages,  and future employment outlook of the jobs that you have chosen. This activity will guide you through this research process and provide you with this important information to help you make your decision.

Activity #4: Academic Advising

Now you have a better idea of what you want to study, it is time to seek advise. You need to know such things as the classes you need to take, if there are prerequisites, when are the classes offered, and who the advisors are for your program. This activity will help you with this process.

Activity #5: Financial Aid

Now you have a clear idea of  your future plans. The next step is to know how will you finance your education. This activity will help you discover the different ways that are available to pay for your education.
